The Top 10 Movies of 2009!!!
10. The Proposal
Why? Because Sandra Bullock + Ryan Reynolds + RomCom = DREAMY!!
9. Angels & Demons
Sure the the pacing and dialogue may have been pretty bad, but at least the action and direction were there. And sure, the action and direction were pretty bad, but at least… wait, where was I going with this? Whatever, its #9.
8. Nine
Why? Because I love musicals!! I really just can’t get enough of people singing and dancing on screen. Chicago, Sound of Music, Nine, bring them on!!
7. Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeekqil
Move over Ponyo, stand aside Coraline, out of the way Up. Here is the real animated masterpiece of 2009. Originality and a sense of humour for children and especially adults.
6. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Lets face it; movies weren’t made for small, depressing stories and “character pieces”. They were made for larger-than-life explosions, killer robots, and nonsensical action sequences which blow you out of your seats!!!
5. Terminator Salvation
This is by far the best of the franchise. I dare you to find a hole in this air-tight plot. And finally we get to see what makes John Connor so important; radio addresses!! No wonder the machines spent so much effort to wipe out his existence!!
4. Jennifer’s Body
Why didn’t anyone give this a chance?? Maybe it doesn’t deserve Avatar-type box office numbers, but it should have been close!
3. Year One
Michael Cera and Jack Black. What more is there to know? Pure comedic gold. Every word in this script will make you laugh.
2. New Moon
Once again, vampire mythology is given full justice here with the continuing Twilight Saga. But now we get werewolves as well! Vampires and werewolves finally get their due! Their true characteristics are finally revealed. No more of these false myths about them being in any way frightening. They are simply angst-ridden!
1. X-Men Origins: Wolverine
How could you possibly have a better time at the movies?! I mean, this had everything!! Characters were flying around all over the place, stabbing and hitting things, it was great!! I couldn’t get enough of Wolverine and Sabertooth flicking their claws out and running at each other!!! And just when you thought the story was going nowhere, they manage to throw in another random mutant!!! Engrossing entertainment all around.
Now that’s a painful list. 😉
