W.
Many people were expecting Oliver Stone’s W. to make a big splash when it was released. Well, it didn’t. But it was good movie nonetheless. It was fun, involving, and entertaining. I liked that Stone didn’t try to push my opinion on Bush one way or the other; I already have an opinion and I don’t need an agenda pushed on me. But Stone focused on the storytelling and it was highly appreciated.
There were some really great performances here from Brolin in an outstanding performance as W himself, James Cromwell as daddy Bush, and Jeffrey Wright as Colin Powell. But the scene-stealer here was Richard Dreyfus as Cheney. Dreyfus was outstanding as the hard-edged vice-president and I think he definitely should have gotten an oscar nod.
