Kung Fu Panda

Dreamworks’ animation department usually isn’t quite up to par with the Pixar releases on any given year.  However, after seeing Kung Fu Panda, I have to say I loved it! For one thing, the film looked amazing. The characters were full and vibrant, the settings were detailed yet with an epic scope, it was fantastic. The best-looking animated movie I’ve seen since Finding Nemo.

As for the story, it was wonderfully touching and brilliant in its simplicity. We as an audience are really pulled into the emotions of these characters and as a result the story keeps us enthralled.

The voice work is also great, especially by Hoffman and Jack Black, who manages to bring his quirks as an actor out in his animated character of Po in a way I don’t think I’ve ever seen before.

To conclude, a great movie, full of fun, humour and emotion.
