The Bank Job
As far as caper films go, this is a good one. It’s not really a complex heist plan, like the Ocean’s 11 movies, but its more about the political intrigue surrounding it and the mess the robbers get themselves in afterward and how they constantly have to stay on their toes to get out of it.
Jason Stathem has been labeled as a mindless action hero, but there is definitely more to his acting abilities than that, and this film shows that off. The supporting characters are also more well-defined than most, but can actually be quite annoying once those characters become expendable. This is a well-constructed plot which holds together through the whole movies. Scenes like the heist where the lookout is always on the verge of giving up their location via radio provide a lot of tension.
